March 2006 Meeting

Tcl/Tk and the Open Instrumentation Project

The Open Instrumentation Project makes low cost hardware and Open Software available that can be further developed by contributors in the Open Source community. In this lecture we describe how the Open Source Tcl/Tk language has been used to construct this software, and how it can be applied to other instrumentation projects. Specifically, we describe the hardware and software of a simple approach to the USB interface, avoiding the complexities of USB. This will be of interest to students attempting projects that use the USB interface.
