Understanding the freedesktop.org's XDG menus specification

Raul Suarez will explain the freedesktop.org's XDG menus specification including how the menus work, how you can modify them, what tools there are to work with them and how you can take advantage of the XDG structure for other purposes. Raul will demonstrate how he is implementing them in a linux distribution to dynamically update the menu when new applications are installed regardless of the Window manager used.
The XDG menu structure is currently being used in Gnome and KDE and it is supported at various levels by many other window managers.
The presentation is intended for all audiences. It will include some practical concepts along with some code.
